Olympique de Marseille's Didier Deschamps content with away draw against Toulouse
The OM coach was satisfied with the outcome of Saturday's game, especially after taking the fact his side finished with 10 men into consideration
Olympique de Marseille head coach Didier Deschamps has expressed his satisfaction with his side's hard-fought scoreless Ligue 1 draw against Toulouse on Saturday.Marseille were reduced to 10 men in the 58th minute when Charles Kabore received his marching orders, but they managed to hold on to secure a precious point.
And while Deschamps would have preferred to win, he admitted he was content with a draw in the end.
"We had a few chances, but Toulouse did too. It wasn't a spectacular match - from either side. I'm not going to say I'll settle for that, but we'll take a point against a team that had taken 17 up until now," he said at the post-match press conference.
"We were relatively solid, but lacked a little penetration in the final third. Given the circumstances of the match, with the sending off of Charles [Kabore], even though it's not a lot, it's still a point.
"The most important thing is our home form. We now have to back up this away point."
Marseille currently sit 14th in the Ligue 1 table, having taken nine points from 10 games.
