The France international has raised the bar for the new campaign as he targets immediate success following his summer return from ItalyParis Saint-Germain winger Jeremy Menez believes the club will have failed in their mission if they miss out on winning the Ligue 1 title this season.
Menez moved back to France from Roma in an €8 million deal after three years of life in Serie A.
His aim is to recreate PSG's golden age as they have not won the league since 1994.
But the France international made it clear they need to fight hard to reach the pinnacle.
"PSG must win the league, otherwise our season will be a failure," Menez is quoted as saying in La Repubblica.
"There is no point in trying to hide it. We have to win the title if our season is to be considered a good one."
The French outfit take on Brest at the Parc des Princes on Sunday night and are currently two points behind league leaders Montpellier.
