France international has agreed to move north after rejecting advances from PSG, and it seems Champions League football was the decisive factorDimitri Payet looks set to complete his switch from Saint-Etienne to French champions Lille following an agreement between the clubs, says coach Christophe Galtier.
Payet is expected to complete his medical before putting pen to paper on an undisclosed deal.
"It's not a surprise as both of us have spoken about it. Dimitri, Lille and Saint-Etienne have found an agreement."
Despite a €12 million transfer fee, L'Equipe claims Lille will pay around €9m for the France international forward.
Reports on Monday had claimed the 24-year-old, who is tied to Saint-Etienne until 2013, rejected an offer from Paris Saint-Germain to move north.
Payet was previously linked with Premier League side Liverpool, but it seems the lure of Champions League football has influenced his choice.
