Real Sociedad’s rising star Antoine Griezmann admits that he is flattered by interest form Ligue 1 giants Marseille, but feels he still has much to learn in Spanish football.
The French under-21 international was superb as the San Sebastian side secured promotion to the Primera Division last season, and has taken his form into the current campaign with a number of eye-catching displays.
This has prompted interest from his homeland, with a €15 million bid reportedly arriving from OM, but the level-headed 19-year-old feels that remaining in La Liga will be beneficial to him for the time being.
He commented: “When I was young I was a Marseille follower, but for the moment I take a lot of pleasure in playing with la Real. I want to stay in the Spanish league, because it is the best in the world.”
Griezmann claims at the moment he is only interested in the next match, this weekend’s trip to face third-placed Villarreal at El Madrigal.
He added: “They are a very good team who play very good football. It will be difficult for us, but we try to pick up some points there.”
