Yoann Gourcuff has lamented the lack of predictability in Ligue 1 in the early stages of the season after his Olympique Lyonnais side overcame Nice 1-0 on Sunday night.
The young playmaker has lamented the fact that no team in his opinion, aside from Lille, has managed to play a fluid brand of football in the opening weeks of the campaign, leaving the so-called better sides unable to break free of a congested pack.
“In Le Championnat, currently, there is a deficit at the technical level. Apart from Lille, there are not many teams who have mastered their subject,” the former Stade Rennais midfielder explained to Canal+ on Sunday night.
“The league is strange, very tight, very special. I hope there is more logic in the second half of the season.”
With 13 rounds of matches played in France’s top division, the top eight teams are spread by only three points, and even Nancy in 19th are only eight points off the pace of leaders Stade Brestois.
