Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff cannot hide his disappointment about not being able to defeat his former side, losing to Bordeaux 2-0.
Gourcuff described the match as a tight affair, with little space being allowed by Bordeaux.
"The game was fairly closed and it was played between two teams who needed points and reassurance defensively," the French international told L'Equipe post-match. "It was not a great game technically, but there was intensity, a lot of commitment and little space."
"We had our chances, but we did not finish them off. It's a disappointing night on all counts."
Gourcuff says it was not "easy to come back" to his former club and do well, especially with the crowd whistling him every time he touched the ball.
"The whistles were not my primary concern. I was only focusing on the match," he said. "We created enough opportunities during the first half.
"It's a shame not to have converted one as it became difficult to score in the second half."
