Fahid Ben Khalfallah has put pen to paper to become Girondins de Bordeaux’s fourth summer signing on Friday afternoon, the Garonne club have announced via their official website.
Reports that the Tunisian attacking midfielder was being lined up as a replacement for Yoann Gourcuff, who left the Stade Chaban-Delmas for Olympique Lyonnais earlier this week, heightened on Thursday, and little more than 24 hours later the 27-year-old completed his move to les Girondins.
A medical has been passed, and the player has signed a deal to tie him to Jean Tigana’s club for four years.
Bordeaux describe Ben Khalfallah as a “quick, fast and technical” offensive midfielder who is “equally at home making the final pass or in front of goal”.
Indeed, his performances with VA last term are testament to this. He may only have started 24 times for the Nord club in Ligue 1, but he racked up a good number of assists, as well as seven goals.
A player who has spent the majority of his career in Ligue 2, the North African finally finds himself at one of France’s strongest clubs.
