'Le President' will not be cutting his nose off to spite his face...

France boss Laurent Blanc may have been happy to axe all 23 of the country’s World Cup squad as a disciplinary measure for next week’s friendly against Norway, but he has affirmed that he will not leave his star men frozen out for long.

Blanc elected to stamp his authority on his new role by suspending those players who striked against former coach Raymond Domenech and the FFF (French FA) in South Africa for one game. Once this encounter has passed, the coach has affirmed that he will consider recalls.

“What happened cannot be erased,” Blanc told the press, according to L’Equipe. “It is a scar. The only thing that can erase it is winning. There is no question that we will put a thorn in our foot.

“If we want to impose a disciplinary sanction, I think we should be careful. To achieve the objective, which is qualification for Euro 2012, I need all my forces.”

The former Girondins de Bordeaux boss also affirmed that the door is not closed on a potential recall for Nicolas Anelka. Additionally, Blanc indicated that he will quit his post should he fail to guide France to the Ukraine and Poland.
