Charlie Davies has reconvened with Sochaux after being involved in a fatal car accident last October, in which he suffered a whole catalogue of serious injuries.

He underwent a series of medical tests with les Lionceaux and is making good progress as he continues his recovery from his extensive injuries, still hopeful of being fit in time for the World Cup.

The 23-year-old suffered numerous fractures in the crash, including problems to his leg, arm and a perforated bladder. However, he is now able to jog, though he still suffers some discomfort in his elbow.

“I am very well despite the very long journey from the United States,” he smiled to the club’s official website. “I am very excited to return and look forward to resume training.

“From the first day I wanted to return to pitch as quickly as possible. I did everything it took to resume quickly and be sure to play with FCSM this season.

“I'm probably about to resume training regularly with the team. I still need time to be at the level of performance it takes to play a game. I'm not too far from that level.”
