The transfer window may only have shut at the beginning of the week, but Olympique Lyonnais are already planning their summer signing assault, with Sporting CP’s Joao Moutinho heading their wish-list, according to Mercato365.
Brazilian playmaker Ederson is expected to leave the Rhone Valley if Claude Puel manages to keep his job, something that looks far from certain at the present time as les Gones continue to hover outside the Champions League spots in Ligue 1.
Since losing Juninho, OL have lacked a player capable of setting the tempo of the game, with Miralem Pjanic seemingly too young to perform such a task to a high standard on a consistent basis. The Portuguese 23-year-old is therefore seen as an ideal target for Puel’s squad.
Moutinho’s name has been whispered in connection with many of Europe’s top clubs, though he has remained with the Lisbon outfit for the duration of his professional career. A transfer fee of €22.5 million would have to be paid to prise the graceful midfielder from his formative club, though OL have shown over the course of the last eight months that they are not averse to spending big, signing both Lisandro Lopez and Aly Cissokho from Porto for giant fees.
As well as Moutinho, Moussa Sissoko continues to be linked with les Gones, though it is thought that Inter are also tracking the dynamic midfielder. Partizan Belgrade’s 21-year-old Ljubomir Fejsa is another name to figure on their shortlist.
