Tunisia Goalkeeper Hamdi Kasraoui Staying Patient At Lens

The newly recruited goalkeeper says he’s willing to work hard in training to earn first team minutes.

Hamdi Kasraoui, Tunisia
Tunisian international goalkeeper Hamdi Kasraoui recently spoke to Lensois.com about his participation with his French club’s reserve team in their 1-0 loss to Besancon on Wednesday.

In the interview, he has maintained that he is satisfied with his decision to play for the reserves until he is able to lock down a starting spot in the senior side where he is competing with Vedran Runje.

“Competition, that is what’s most important to me. Even if I played in a lower division it’s not a problem. I competed just like I would have if I was playing with the professional side. In any case, as soon as I go onto the pitch, whether it be in training or in a match, I give everything,” he explained.

“I try my best to help the group I’m with. Also, as a footballer, the things I search for before all else is to play in matches.”

Meanwhile, the former Esperance Sportive de Tunis glovesman did concede that he would much prefer to be gaining first team minutes with RC Lens’ first team but that his aim is to stay patient and motivated and hope that his hard work pays off.

Since his move from the Tunisian defending champions to France, Kasraoui is no longer being relied on as the Carthage Eagles’ main goalkeeper as Humberto Coelho has preferred a more in form and competitive Aymen Mathlouthi who is playing regularly with Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
