The French Football Federation (FFF) has taken the decision to postpone tonight's match between Olympique Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain due to swine flu.

A statement on the French Football League's official website, lfp.fr, listed a number of health and safety reasons for the decision which was necessitated by the spread of the virus.

Ludovic Giuly and Mamadou Sakho were the first to be infected, before Jeremy Clement also picked up the H1N1 virus and, according to reports, Loris Arnaud and a member of staff have also succumbed.

The LFP's announcement revealed that Giuly and Sakho had returned home after undergoing tests on October 23, the results of which were sent to the FFF.

In order to prevent the spread of the virus to further players, the PSG players and staff will be quarantined for 72 hours.

The game had originally been scheduled to take place at 20.00 CET tonight.
