Guingamp’s Richard Soumah Ready To Replace Jerome Rothen At PSG
With the likelihood of Rothen leaving the Parc des Princes growing, les Parisiens have looked to Ligue 2 for a replacement...
Paris Saint-Germain are poised to complete a move for coveted Guingamp midfielder Richard Soumah, who is being touted as the man to replace Premier League bound Jerome Rothen.
With the ostracised Rothen liable to move away from the Parc des Princes in the coming days – a move to Blackburn Rovers is still on the cards – PSG are set to swoop for the Ligue 2 star, who was one of the key men as the Breton outfit charged to unlikely Coupe de France success last season, according to L’Equipe.
“PSG are a team that I appreciate and Paris is a club that I want to join,” explained 22-year-old Soumah, who was born in the Parisian suburb of Creteil. “I’m trying not to pack because it’s a choice and there are many conditions that have to be met. But if Paris think of me, then it is a challenge I want to meet.”
The Paris-based publication suggests that PSG will pay €3 million for the winger’s services and that he will be tied to club for a period of four or five years. His signing would represent something of a coup for the capital club, as Olympique Lyonnais were also believed to be hard on the trail of the promising youngster.
As well as being local to les Parisiens, Soumah would also likely be in line for far more first team football at the Parc des Princes than he would with OL, where Michel Bastos would bar his way to the first XI.
