No Paris Saint-Germain Move For Inter’s Patrick Vieira – Antoine Kombouare

Les Parisiens' head coach has conceded that Vieira will be unattainable for the capital club due to his wage demands.

Veteran Inter midfielder Patrick Vieira was strongly associated with a switch to Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain this summer, however, talks have broken down between the player and the French club due to the ex-Gunner’s wage demands.

PSG wanted Vieira to slot in beside Claude Makelele, aiming to rekindle a partnership that was important to the dominant French international side of the early 2000s, however, les Parisiens cannot afford the 33-year-old, who has spent the last season plagued by injury problems.

“For now, Patrick Vieira is not valid because he is not on the same wavelength as us with regard to the financial plan,” declared coach Antoine Kombouare to Europe 1 on Monday evening.

It has been well documented that PSG’s finances are not ideal at the present time and that the capital outfit are trying to reduce their wage bill. From the outset of this transfer saga, they made it clear that any difficulties that were likely to arise in this deal would prove to be in the sphere of the player’s wages, and so it has proven.

There has been better news elsewhere for les Parisiens on the transfer market early this week as they announced the arrival of goalkeeper Gregory Coupet and striker Mevlut Erding on Monday.
