The Argentina international says his substitution at Goodison Park was purely precautionary and that he is "fine" after he was taken off in the first half
The Argentina international cancelled out Ross Barkley’s opener but immediately pulled up and was replaced shortly afterwards by Fernandinho.
The striker looked to have suffered a groin problem but took to social media after the game to insist he was taken off purely as a precautionary measure.
“Thank you for your concern. I left just as a precaution,” he Tweeted. “Fortunately I'm fine, happy for the goal, the win and keeping our dream alive.”
City went on to win the game 3-2 thanks to two goals from Edin Dzeko with the victory enough to send them top of the Premier League on goal difference, with just two games left to play.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side face Aston Villa at home on Wednesday night before concluding their Premier League campaign on Sunday against West Ham.
