Uruguay assistant coach Celso Otero believes that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been belittled during his time in England.
The 26-year-old has received two lengthy bans from the Football Association for racially abusing Patrice Evra and biting Branislav Ivanovic during his time at Anfield.
Suarez returned from a 10-game suspension for his involvement with the Chelsea defender in September and is currently the Premier League's top scorer with 14 goals - and Quintas feels that the forward is starting to convince his critics.
"Luis has shown his exceptional talent since he has been playing in England but what he has also shown is great strength and resistance against a flood of 'information' intended to put him down and belittle him. But he knew how to cope with it and kept progressing," he told reporters.
"He's shown he's a good man and a good father to his family and demonstrated on the field what a great sportsman he is.
"I also think, little by little, he is winning round the English public and they are at least showing him the respect he deserves."
