Betting Special: Back Celtic's No.1 to secure a place in Brazil

Hugh Wilson takes a look at the options available to Roy Hodgson for next summer's showpiece event, and has a 10/11 tip to share
Joe Hart has been a permanent fixture in the England national team since 2011, making the position his own. As well as his fantastic performances cementing his place on the teamsheet, other goalkeepers have struggled to put any sort of pressure on him, meaning Fabio Capello and Roy Hodgson have had an easy decision to make when it came to naming a No.1.

To make the World Cup Squad

Odds from BetVictor
Joe Hart 1/33
Fraser Forster 10/11
Ben Foster 11/10
John Ruddy 5/4
Scott Carson 12/1
However, in recent months, both of those situations have changed. Hart has been a fault for a number of goals for club and country, putting doubts into many people's minds about whether he will be the first-choice goalkeeper for the Three Lions next summer.

The bookmakers still see his position as fairly safe. The 26-year-old is currently 1/4 (1.25) with BetVictor to start the opening group game for England in the World Cup, although that's a price that seems to offer no value at all when you consider Hart has lost his place in the Manchester City side in recent weeks.

With the market heavily focused on Hart, it's worth looking elsewhere to find a bet that stands out with regards to England's custodians.

BetVictor also have a market for who will be on the plane to Brazil.

They price Celtic's Fraser Forster at 10/11 (1.91), Norwich's John Ruddy at 5/4 (1.25) and West Brom's Ben Foster at 11/10 (2.10).

Of those three, Forster stands out at a great price due to his current form. Despite not yet being capped for England, the Celtic man has been included in the squad a number of times, and is set to make his debut against Chile this week.

Forster comes into this game as the in-form goalkeeper in the squad, having impressed in the Scottish Premier League for Celtic. More importantly, he's also stood out in the Champions League for the Hoops, with the 25-year-old putting in some heroic performances against Ajax and Barcelona recently, proving he can cut it on the big stage.

With John Ruddy currently unable to find consistent form and Ben Foster on the sidelines injured, the price of 10/11 (1.91) for Forster to make the squad seems too good to miss.
