Paulinho revels in first Tottenham goal

A 93rd-minute winner saw the Brazilian hand all three points to his new side as Spurs finally breached a standout display from Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall
Paulinho spoke of his delight after his first-ever Premier League goal saw Tottenham clinch a last-gasp victory over Cardiff City on Sunday.

The midfielder back-heeled fellow summer signing Erik Lamela’s low cross to beat David Marshall in the 93rd minute as the newly promoted side's resolute defensive was breached at the 29th attempt.

11/2 Paulinho is 11/2 with BetVictor to score v Aston Villa on Tuesday
Paulinho, a £17 million recruit from Corinthians, had opened his Tottenham account against Dinamo Tbilisi in August, but was thrilled to get off the mark in the league.

"I’m delighted because we played so well and it was important to get the three points," he told the club's official website.

"It’s my first goal in the Premier League and I want to say thanks to everyone. I’m so happy.

"When I scored I went to the fans because our fans are the best. I feel very good, a little tired but very happy!"

Paulinho has featured in all five of Spurs’ Premier League fixtures this season, making a man-of-the-match performance on debut against Crystal Palace.

Andre Villas-Boas’ men are flying high in the Premier League with a return of 12 points from a possible 15 leaving them level on points with first-placed Arsenal.
