Van Wolfswinkel wants to take Norwich to the ‘next level’

The 24-year-old Dutch striker is looking forward to his move to Carrow Road and says manager Chris Hughton is confident he will score goals
Ricky van Wolfswinkel says is looking forward to joining Norwich City and wants to help take the Canaries to the “next level”.

The Dutch striker will join the Premier League side on July 1 after agreeing an €10 million move from Sporting Lisbon.

Norwich finished last season in 11th place in the Premier League and Van Wolfswinkel says he is joining a strong team with a bright future.

5/2 Norwich are 5/2 with William Hill to be relegated next season
"I am sure I can help take Norwich to that next level now," he told Canary Magazine.

"There is already a great team there and I hope I can add to that.

"I will love working with the team and the coach and I see a very good future for us all - for me and for Norwich.

"The Premier League is always a place I have wanted to test myself. For me Norwich is the perfect club and the perfect place to be."

Van Wolfswinkel scored 15 times for Sporting Lisbon last season and the Dutchman says manager Chris Hughton is confident he will be just as prolific in England.

"Like every coach wants when they bring in a striker, he [Hughton] wants goals. Simple,” he added.

"He knows my qualities and said to me, 'just use them and you will score goals which will be really important for the team'."
