Rafa Benitez insists he will remember his time as interim manager of Chelsea fondly after winning the Europa League despite his unpopularity among the club's supporters.

The Spaniard ended his tenure at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening with a 5-3 friendly defeat against Manchester City in the USA, and says he will take "a lot of positives" into his next job.

Chelsea finished third in the Premier League, securing qualification for the Champions League, and also won the Europa League despite the unsavoury reception Benitez received in west London.

"I take a lot of good memories. The players were really good during the season," the former Liverpool boss told Chelsea's official website.

"We won the Europa League, we had another final and two other semi-finals. A lot of positives. I get a bit of a rest now, and then see what my agent is saying."

It is widely expected that Benitez will take over at Serie A club Napoli in the coming weeks.
