Extra Time: Leyton Orient clear up Beckham confusion

After receiving "a number of phone calls" the club were forced to take to Twitter to announce that the retiring midfielder's last game was not against them but French side Lorient
Following the news of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder David Beckham's retirement, the footballing world was thrown into a fit of panic and bewilderment - more so than you might have thought.

As fans scrambled to find out what would be their last chance to see the former England captain in action, his club's final Ligue 1 fixture of the season perplexed those less familiar with French football.

The confusion was such that League One outfit Leyton Orient had to take to Twitter to clear up a misunderstanding.

"Already had a few phone calls but to clear things up Beckham's last game is against FC Lorient not us," the third-tier side declared.

PSG will travel to north-west France to face les Merlus on May 25, though first Beckham will stay goodbye to the Parc des Princes at the league champions' final home game of the season against Brest on Saturday.
