The tweets vary between serious and jokey, but the hashtag itself followed an initial top trend of '#inmoyeswetrust,' which trended highly in the entire UK. Who said football fans were fickle?
One fan preferred former Leeds manager Neil Warnock over Moyes, while another preemptively complained of a probable six-year drought, given that he never won anything at Everton.
One tweet in particular was by an Arsenal fan who joked that the Scot must go now because he hasn't won a match at United yet - two months before his contract has even started.
With the majority of the tweets coming from the Manchester area, it would be wrong to rule out City fans playing everybody else for a fool.
However, this is the second time that '#moyesout' has been a popular trend in the space of two months.
