thumbnail Hello,

The England international believes he has improved greatly since moving to Old Trafford and, following a fifth Premier League title win, is now in the form of his life

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick believes he has improved as a player since joining the club, and is now at the peak of his abilities.

The 31-year-old has excelled this season, helping the Red Devils claim their 20th top-flight title and earning a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

The former West Ham and Tottenham midfield anchor thinks that he is in the form of life, though confessed he would never stop striving to improve further.

“Yeah, I feel like I've improved all the time I've been at United,” Carrick told the club's official website when asked if he was at his peak.

“You’re always going to have better spells than others. That's natural and you can’t be on an upward curve all the time or play at your best all the time.

“But as time has gone on I have improved as a player and I’m still looking to improve even now. You have to here.”

Despite wowing Old Trafford en route to winning five Premier League medals in his seven seasons at the club, Carrick's performance have often gone unsung.

But the midfielder revealed that he cares little for the public perception of him, whether positive or negative, and has laughed off criticism and praise in the past.

“It makes me laugh sometimes with the things I read and comments I hear,” Carrick continued.

“Perhaps a few more figures in football have said nice things about my game and then people jump on that. But I’ve been happy with my form for a while now.”
