Cole & Cahill provide Chelsea fitness boost ahead of Basel tie

Neither have featured for the Blues since the beginning of April but have returned to bring Rafael Benitez's defensive complement back to full strength ahead of the last-four tie
Chelsea have been handed a massive fitness boost prior to their Europa League semi-final clash with Basel after Ashley Cole and Gary Cahill returned from injury.

Cole has managed to recover from a hamstring injury suffered during the FA Cup quarter-final victory over Manchester United on April 1, while Cahill has been out of action since undergoing a minor knee operation on March 30.

Both have been passed fit by the Blues medical team to join the rest of the 19-man squad on this morning's flight to Switzerland for Thursday's first-leg at St Jakob-Park.

Oscar, who was substituted during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool with slight groin injury, was also present meaning Blues interim boss Rafael Benitez has a full squad to choose from for the last-four tie.
