Muamba joins Mulumbu, Frimpong, Cole and Zaha at charity tournament

The ex-Bolton midfielder will be alongside Premier League and Football League stars at this year's IPAY2PLAY tournament in an effort to raise money for a variety of good causes
Fabrice Muamba will join the likes of Emmanuel Frimpong, Youssuf Mulumbu, Carlton Cole and Wilfried Zaha at a this year's IPAY2PLAY charity tournament.

The tournament, which takes place at Wembley's Ark Academy, is organised to raise money for numerous charitable causes.

And former Bolton midfielder Muamba says he is delighted to offer his support alongside a host of Premier League and Football League professionals.

"I am extremely happy to be able to lend my support to such a great cause at what I know will be a brilliant event," he told reporters.

Professional athletes and other celebrities help the project tackle issues such as HIV education, clean water and community building throughout regions of Africa. All participants donate a fee to enter the competition.

Papa Agyemang, the founder of TEAM IMANI who organise the tournmant, said: "We are overjoyed that Fabrice is able to come down and support IPAY2PLAY this year.

"It is great to see someone of his status support such an event which uses a sport that he loves to raise funds and awareness for the people who need it most."
