thumbnail Hello,

The Hammers boss has revealed that he will send scouts to the Netherlands to watch the Cote d'Ivoire international in action in the Eredivisie over the weekend

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that the club are monitoring Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony.

The 24-year-old has fired 25 goals in 27 appearances this term to help Fred Rutten's side to fourth place in the Eredivisie, just three points short of league leaders Ajax.

And Allardyce says that the east London club will be sending scouts to see how the Cote d'Ivoire international fares against NAC Breda this Saturday.

"Our head scout will be at the game, as well as other scouts, and that means we're after him [Bony]," he told reporters.

"It means we're monitoring everybody that might become available in the summer. More goals is what we need. We look for somebody who is going to get us more goals.

“That's a necessity for us to progress and be better, hopefully, next season."

Andy Carroll will be ineligible to play against parent club Liverpool when the Hammers travel to Anfield on Sunday, but Allardyce is confident that he has sufficient alternatives.

He added: "We've got Carlton and Chamakh who could step into the team and hopefully they can deliver the sort of performance Andy can deliver, because that's what we'll need at Anfield on Sunday.

“It's frustrating for him and for us, but that was the terms of the agreement. Sunday's going to be a big test for us, because we go away, we create chances and we don't score."
