The 32-year-old Fenerbahce forward says his side are "eagerly anticipating" their quarter-final clash with Lazio but admits he is relieved to have bypassed the London clubs
Fenerbahce forward Dirk Kuyt has expressed his relief over avoiding Chelsea and Tottenham in the draw for the Europa League quarter-finals.The Turkish side were drawn against Lazio on Friday, while Tottenham and Chelsea were paired up against Basel and Rubin Kazan respectively.
Kuyt lauded the Italian side as a "great team", but admitted he was glad to have avoided Premier League opposition.
"All the teams that are in the quarter finals are hard to beat but we've avoided the teams like Chelsea and Tottenham," Kuyt told NTVSpor.
"We're eagerly anticipating the clash against Lazio. We're really excited as a team. Lazio is a great team. It's going to be a tough tie but we'll do our best to reach the Europa League final."
Fenerbahce are currently four points behind rivals Galatasaray in second place in the Turkish domestic league, while they also finished runners-up last season.
