Sigurdsson: Tottenham must look ahead to Inter after Liverpool disappointment
The Icelandic midfielder has targeted another unbeaten run for Champions League contenders Spurs, starting with the Europa League clash against the Italian giants on Thursday
Tottenham midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has admitted that the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday was disappointing but says the team is already focusing on their next match against Inter Milan.Spurs' 12-match unbeaten run came to an end at Anfield, a game which Andre Villas-Boas' side were leading 2-1, until some costly errors in defence.
And the Icelandic international admitted that the run would always come to an end but says it will provide extra motivation as they play in the Europa League on Thursday.
"It was disappointing but all we can do now is focus on the next game at Inter and make sure we go through," he told the club's official website.
"We've been on an unbelievable run and sometimes things like this happen. We have to make sure we stay together, regroup and get ready for the next game.
"Hopefully we can go on another run between now and the end of the season. We deserved more than we got at Anfield, so that shows how good the team is. We've now got to go on another run.
"[Liverpool] have dangerous players, especially [Luis] Suarez up front, but I thought once it went to 2-1 we controlled the game. In the end, we lost the game ourselves."
