Mancini unsure over new Kolo Toure deal
The Manchester City boss has praised the Ivorian for his recent displays in Vincent Kompany's absence but admits the defender may still leave when his contract expires this summer
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini admits he is unsure whether Kolo Toure will be offered a new deal with the club. The 31-year-old's current contract with the Premier League champions expires at the end of the season but the Ivorian has provided cover at the back during Vincent Kompany's absence, and has been praised by Mancini for his display against Chelsea on February 24.
When asked whether the defender will be leaving at the end of the season, Mancini responded: "I am also leaving in the summer - on holiday."
The Italian continued: "We don't know at this moment. What is important is that he continues to play the way he did on Monday night and against Chelsea.
"Kolo is a really professional player and deserves to have the satisfaction of those performances. He has done really well and we will see. I am happy for him because he is a good guy."
