The 29-year-old centre back turned the spotlight onto his goalkeeper's stunning save in Spurs’ thrilling 3-2 win over West Ham United before Gareth Bale’s late winner
The Frenchman made a vital save when the visitors were a goal down and Matt Taylor was through on goal to make it 3-1 to the Hammers, a scoreline that would have been "probably game-over" for Andre Villas-Boas' top four-chasing side.
Bale secured the three points after Gylfi Sigurdsson had equalised and has been grabbing the headlines yet again for another match-winning performance, but Dawson was keen to stress the importance of their keeper Lloris.
"One guy I want to mention is Hugo," Dawson told the club's official website.
"He pulled me out of jail when I played Matt Taylor onside. He's got a real shiner for it as well!
"That was massive. It was 2-1 at the time and at 3-1, it's probably game over, certainly in terms of winning.
"It would be hard to come back from there, but Hugo made a tremendous save and he did the same in the first half as well."
Lloris joined Tottenham from Lyon in the summer and it took him a while before he wrestled the No.1 jersey away from Brad Friedel, but Dawson was glowing about his new team-mate's performances this year.
He added: "Hugo has certainly settled in well, he's been brilliant since he's been in the team and he deserves a massive mention as well."
