Hernandez: Swansea move best decision of my career
The 27-year-old Spanish midfielder has has hailed his switch to Wales as the best choice he has made yet after the club lifted their first major trophy on Sunday
Pablo Hernandez has claimed his decision to move to Swansea was the best of his career so far.The Spanish winger has been a hit at the Liberty Stadium following his €6.4 million move from Valencia in the summer, putting in a number of impressive performances for Michael Laudrup's side.
He also played a major role in helping Swansea secure their first major trophy as they lifted the Capital One Cup at Wembley on Sunday following an outstanding 5-0 win over Bradford City, and said swapping Spain for Wales was the right choice.
"For me the decision of coming to Swansea is the best of my career," he told the club's official website.
"I didn't think when I came here that it would be difficult to win a title – I only had to look at the quality players already here to know we had a chance.
"I enjoy playing here. I enjoy being around the players, the club and the fans. It's history for our club, our city and our fans.
"It was brilliant seeing all the fans in the stand, all cheering and singing for us. Wembley is a historic stadium and known throughout the world, so it was brilliant to play there.
"I've played at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge in the Champions League but this is different. This is a historic achievement for the club. It means everything to us."
