Schmeichel: Mourinho will never manage Manchester United
Despite praising the Real Madrid boss' management abilities, the legendary goalkeeper believes the Portuguese coach is too controversial to take over at Old Trafford

Peter Schmeichel believes Jose Mourinho will never take over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United as he attracts controversy.
With Sir Alex Ferguson approaching his 72nd birthday and Mourinho's future at the Bernabeu coming under increased scrutiny after disappointing form in La Liga, speculation is mounting that the Portuguese is eyeing a role at Old Trafford in the near future.
However, despite retaining a good relationship with the Scot, it is looking increasingly unlikely that the Madrid manager will make the move to Manchester.
And, the legendary goalkeeper feels 'The Special One' is not the man to provide stability at United, pointing out the short time he has spent at some of Europe's top clubs as evidence of his volatile nature.
"[Mournho] will not be the successor," he told El Mundo. "I don't think the club would be happy with everything Mourinho brings with him.
"He's a great candidate for his qualities as a manager but the club doesn't want all the things that come with him. Chelsea, Inter and now Real Madrid - he doesn't last more than three years."
United face Madrid at the Bernabeu in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie on Wednesday, and Schmeichel is surprised the Spanish side are being touted as favourites by many given their current domestic form.
He added: "Almost everyone in the world considers Madrid to be favourites - that's strange. We should beat them because we're having a good season."
