Swansea are almost safe after 'wonderful' QPR win, says Michu
The attacker grabbed a double to help his side to a 4-1 victory on Saturday afternoon and has expressed delight over the Swans' performances so far this season
Swansea striker Michu believes his side's Premier League status is virtually assured thanks to Saturday's 4-1 win over QPR.The Spaniard netted twice as the Swans ruthlessly dispatched Harry Redknapp's men at the Liberty Stadium to move 14 points clear of the relegation zone.
And, with a League Cup final clash with Bradford approaching at the end of the month, the 26-year-old has claimed that his team-mates can be proud of their efforts.
He told reporters: "It was a wonderful win and one that means we are practically safe in the Premier League.
"We can go to Dubai and face Liverpool next week with a smile on our faces."
Michu has netted 15 Premier League goals this season but missed out on a place in the Spain squad to face Uruguay despite recent assurances from Vicente del Bosque.
On the topic of earning a maiden call-up, he added: "As far as Spain is concerned, it’s very difficult. I have always said that. They are the best team in the world and they have some great players."
