The Argentina international believes the 28-year-old should be highly regarded due to his successes at the Etihad Stadium and attributes his personal improvement to the Italian

Sergio Aguero has hailed the hard work put in by Roberto Mancini in his time as manager of Manchester City.

The Premier League champions currently sit nine points behind Manchester United in the title race and once again failed in the Champions League this term, leading to rumours that the Italian could be replaced at the end of the campaign.

But the Argentina striker hopes Mancini has been appreciated for what success he has brought the club since his arrival in 2009 and credits him for an improvement in his own game.

Aguero told reporters: “Roberto is a very hard-working coach who has won important trophies that should be valued by everyone.

“I have a good personal relationship with him, too. He talks to me a lot in training, tells me what kind of movements I should make.”

The 24-year-old scored his 11th goal of the season in stunning circumstances last weekend as City snatched a late draw at home to Liverpool.
