South Wales police drop investigation into Hazard kick on Swansea ball boy
The Chelsea winger was charged with violent conduct by the Football Association on Friday afternoon but is no longer the subject of enquiries by the authorities
South Wales police have revealed that no further action will be taken over the clash between Eden Hazard and Swansea ballboy Charlie Morgan on Tuesday evening. The Football Association charged the Belgian wideman with violent conduct on Friday afternoon for his part in the incident which took place during the Capital One Cup semi-final.
However, the 22-year-old will not face criminal charges from the authorities despite appearing to kick the youngster.
A tweet from the south Wales police force's official account read: "Swansea City ball boy incident update: We can confirm there is no longer any police involvement in this matter."
Hazard is likely to be handed a lengthy ban by the FA if found guilty, after the football governing body claimed a three-game sanction would be "insufficient".
