Pulis still 'in love' with the FA Cup

The Stoke boss will take on Manchester City in the cup on Saturday afternoon and is hoping to continue his side's recent excellent run of form in the competition
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has claimed that he is still "in love" with the FA Cup ahead of his side's meeting with Manchester City on Saturday.

The two sides met in the 2011 final, although Yaya Toure's goal sealed a win for the current Premier League champions.

The Potters have an excellent recent record in the competition and Pulis is looking forward to a pulsating tie, while also calling on the Potters' fans to cheer their side to victory.

He told the club's official website: “We are proud of our record in the competition which has seen us lose only three times in 18 cup ties over the past four seasons – to Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool – which shows how seriously we have taken it, so we want that to continue.

“It’s absolutely fabulous that we have the champions of England coming here for what should a cracking tie on Saturday, but we will need the Britannia to be rocking.

“I’m still very much in love with the FA Cup and I know our supporters are too after what has happened over the past three seasons,

“The fans recognise that we need their backing more than ever on big occasions like this, and we will certainly need them right behind us for such a tough game.”
