The Frenchman opened the scoring for the Magpies with a brilliant free-kick but the hosts went on to lose 2-1 thanks to two strikes from Royals forward Adam Le Fondre
Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has claimed that he would swap his goal in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Reading for three points.The Frenchman marked his return from injury by putting the Magpies ahead with a finely taken free-kick, but the Royals turned the game on its head thanks to Adam Le Fondre's double.
And the 27-year-old has expressed frustration over a result which has left Alan Pardew's side just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Despite the poor result, the France international was pleased to have overcome a groin injury in order to feature.
He said: "It was so long for me. I was missing the game and now I am back much earlier than predicted.”
