'I'm pleased for Michael' - Pulis delighted after Owen breaks Stoke duck
The 33-year-old got off the mark against Swansea on Saturday and the Potters boss has underlined his desire to keep him at the club alongside fellow striker Kenwyne Jones
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has praised Michael Owen after the striker scored his first goal for the club during Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Swansea. The 33-year-old has been beset by injuries since joining the Potters over the summer, but netted his first Premier League goal since the final day of the 2010-11 season as his side lost out at the Liberty Stadium.
And Pulis has spoken highly of the former England international, stating his intention to retain Owen's services and those of reported Swansea target Kenwyne Jones."I'm pleased for Michael. He's come on and scored a goal. He looks fitter and sharper. We're trying to arrange a game for him in the week. He just needs games," he told reporters.

"He's a good player to come off the bench if you need a goal. If Michael wanted to leave I've an office that I work in and he can bang on the door and say he wants to leave.
"It's the same with Kenwyne. Kenwyne has never come into my office and said he wants to leave the football club."
