The Spaniard is level with the Manchester United man at the top of the Premier League scoring charts, delighting his manager who thinks his incredible success is not normalMichael Laudrup has hailed Michu's form this season, and has drawn comparisons between the Spaniard and Manchester United hot-shot Robin van Persie.
The Swansea forward and the Dutchman have each scored 12 Premier League goals this season, and are joint top in the goalscoring chart.
United travel to the Liberty Stadium on Sunday and Laudrup is wary of Van Persie, but believes his side can snatch a win if they remain confident in their ability.
The Dane told reporters: “United have a team with a lot of quality, wide players who are skillful and a killer inside the box in Van Persie.
“You have to be concentrated against him, defend well and not drop too deep.
“Michu and Van Persie are similar. They look alike, they are both tall, left-footed players, they are not fast but they know when to make the runs.
“It’s fantastic to talk about Michu as one of the top scorers in the competition. It is normal for United to have one, but not so for Swansea.
“United are favourites for the title, but we have to dare to play when we have the ball. They’ve conceded a lot of goals which has encouraged us.”
The Red Devils will face Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions league and Laudrup, who featured for los Blancos in his playing career, believes the Spanish side should come out on top.
He added: “I see Real as small favourites. They haven’t had a great season, but it’s the only major trophy they can win.”
