Swansea goalkeeper Tremmel relishing Manchester United clash
The 34-year-old shot-stopper is not afraid of facing the league leaders and believes that the Swans, currently sitting in 10th place in the table, can get something from the game
Swansea City goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel is relishing the prospect of facing league leaders Manchester United on Sunday. The German shot-stopper has started the last eight league games for the Swans, deputising for the injured Michel Vorm, and feels that his side can come away with at least a point from the match.
"It would be a dream to play against Manchester United," Tremmel told the club's official website, "but, in all fairness, I've played a lot of big games against top teams in the last few weeks. Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea — those experiences will help me.
"I am not afraid of Manchester United. Of course, it is a big story to play against them but they just have 11 players. They have good players but so have the other teams.
"We played Manchester City, who have magnificent offensive players, but we only conceded one goal. I believe we will do a great job, especially because we are at home.
"We also have a good team so why can't we get something out of the game?"
Swansea are currently in 10th place in the Premier League after a 1-0 loss against Tottenham last time out but Tremmel is confident that the Swans can navigate the festive period successfully and move up the table.
"Christmas is coming up and we have important games," he continued.
"If we can come through that period with some more points then we can look forward to the rest of the season.
"It's vital for us to be strong in the next few weeks."
