Liverpool youngster Suso fined for Twitter comment
The 19-year-old made an ill-judged remark on the social networking platform about team-mate Jose Enrique and has been hit with a £10,000 punishment from the Football Association
The Football Association has fined Liverpool attacker Suso £10,000 after finding him guilty of posting an inappropriate comment on Twitter earlier this month. The charge relates to a remark that accompanied a photograph of Jose Enrique having his teeth whitened that read: “What f*** is he doing ?... This guy is gay.
“He has some mentals problems. He does everything except play football.”
A statement on the FA's website read: "The charge, which the player admitted and requested a paper hearing, was that he acted in a way which was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute in that the comment was posted on his Twitter account and included a reference to a person/s sexual orientation and/or disability."
The 19-year-old later removed the comment, posting an apology: “I didn’t mean it in that way about ‘gay’. Don’t want anyone to feel offended. Just joking. But anyway sorry.”
