Manchester City skipper Kompany set to miss Newcastle trip

The Belgian centre-back limped out of Sunday's 3-2 derby defeat against Manchester United and is unlikely to feature against the Magpies at St James' Park on Saturday
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany will visit a specialist after a hamstring injury forced him off during Sunday's dramatic derby defeat against local rivals Manchester United.

The Belgian defender was withdrawn midway through the opening period and, after missing training on Wednesday, looks doubtful to make the trip to St James' Park on Saturday.

The Belgian has missed just two games for the champions this season, the Capital One Cup defeat to Aston Villa and league win over Sunderland.

Jams Milner, who is also recovering from a hamstring injury remains sidelined while Samir Nasri was also missing from training.

Italian striker Mario Balotelli received a one-on-one session following his disappointing display at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
