Uefa postpone Serbia - England Under-21s disciplinary hearing
Europe's governing body were due to pass judgement on the controversial events in Krusevac on Thursday, but have now announced their decision to delay the hearing by three weeks
Uefa have announced that the disciplinary hearing concerning the Under-21 match between England and Serbia has been postponed by three weeks in order to allow for "further investigations".Both teams were initially charged with misconduct following an on-pitch brawl that erupted after the European Under-21 Championships qualifier, which was sparked by alleged racist chanting from the home fans in Krusevac.
European football's governing body are investigating the behaviour of the Serbian supporters, and have decided that it is too soon to give their judgement on the matter.
Uefa said in a statement: "The control and disciplinary body decided to postpone the U21 Serbia-England disciplinary case until its next meeting scheduled on Thursday 13th December 2012 to allow for further investigations."
The Serbian FA have already handed out lengthy bans to players Ognjen Mudrinski and Nikola Ninkovic and staff members Srdjan Maksimovic and Andreja Milutinovic for their involvement in the melee, but blamed England's Danny Rose for provoking the fans in an "inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar manner".
FA chairman David Bernstein met with Uefa president Michel Platini in Switzerland on Tuesday, with the events in Serbia foremost among the topics discussed.
