thumbnail Hello,

The 38-year-old has a decision to make on whether to carry on next season but his manager will be letting him decide in his own time whether to renew his contract

Paul Scholes will not be rushed into a decision on his Manchester United future beyond this season, according to his manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Scholes turned 38 on Friday and will be hoping to make his tenth appearance of the season at Carrow Road on Saturday.

The former England man seems comfortable with his bit-part role in the team and Ferguson is relaxed about the United legend taking his time with his decision.

"It is not a time to make a judgment on that [Scholes' future]," the Old Trafford boss told the media.

"Paul will know himself. He still has the desire to play. That has not stopped."

"It is not a time to make a judgment on that [Scholes' future]."

One stand out performance so far was in the 3-2 away win at Southampton, where Scholes' poise and skill on the ball settled a troubled United down to eventually walk away with a dramatic victory.

"He is still the best passer of the ball in the country. It is amazing. He has had one or two injuries over the years, quit last summer and came back.

"He made a fantastic contribution in the second half of the season and I just think he should keep doing what he is doing. He will sort the rest out himself."
