Mata: Oscar & Hazard have helped Chelsea's style of play
The Spanish midfielder has spoken of his delight at playing an attractive style alongside the team's new recruits, stating that playing entertaining football is the best way to win
Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata believes the summer addition of players such as Oscar and Eden Hazard has helped the club develop into a more enticing-to-watch team. The Stamford Bridge side won the Champions League last season, while Roman Abramovich lavishly added to the squad in the summer in a bid to ensure the London club can continue to compete for top honours.
And the Spanish playmaker feels the Russian owner's approach is paying dividends, with the likes of Oscar and Hazard allowing boss Roberto Di Matteo to play a more attractive brand of football.
"Every team has to play with the players they have" Mata told reporters. "Now we have Oscar and Hazard who play really well with the ball.
"They are able to keep the ball and to assist, and for us it is very good to play like this – this is how I prefer it."
The Blues have recently stumbled with a home defeat to Manchester United followed by a draw away to Swansea, but the team - who won a thrilling Champions League encounter 3-2 against Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek - could close to within a point of league leaders United with a win against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
"We are really enjoying it. We are trying to play good football and, for me, it is the best way to win," Mata continued.
"We are just trying to take advantage of our qualities offensively and defensively, and it's the best way to win games."
