Andre Villas-Boas: I've had no contact with Abramovich since sacking
In the build up to the hotly-anticipated London derby between Tottenham and Chelsea, the current Spurs manager has revealed that he has not spoken to the Blues' owner since March
Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he has not talked to Roman Abramovich in the seven months since he was dismissed as head coach of Chelsea. The Portugese tactician is currently enjoying life at Spurs where, following a sluggish start to the season, he has masterminded his team to victory in their last four league games.
Such consistent form stands in stark contrast to last year, when the then-Chelsea boss watched his team stutter for almost all of his brief spell in charge.
Speaking to The Sun, Villas-Boas was frank when describing his current relationship with the trigger-happy Chelsea owner.
"Have I spoken to him since I left? No.
“Will I speak to him or shake his hand at the match? No — it is highly unlikely he will be allowed into the dressing room or the tunnel.”
Villas-Boas did, though, have words of praise for his Chelsea counterpart and ex-assistant Roberto Di Matteo. “I'm not going to tell you how he dealt with the situation when I left. We don’t speak about that.
“But we've seen each other two or three times since I've arrived back in London so we have a good relationship.”
