Villas-Boas: Unbeaten season with Porto tops Chelsea’s Champions League win

Having turned his fortunes around with Tottenham this season, the former Dragoes manager believes his achievements in 2010-11 top the Blues’ European success last May
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has declared his unbeaten season with Porto is a higher achievement than Chelsea's Champions League success.The 35-year-old faces his old club, who sacked him in March, this Saturday when Spurs host the Blues in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off at White Hart Lane and has added fuel to the fire by revealing his previous feats were harder to come by than Chelsea’s historic success.

Villas-Boas led Porto to the Portuguese title, domestic cup and Europa League success in his first full season in charge, whilst going undefeated in the league in the process.
"Winning the league is extremely difficult," he told reporters. "Going through unbeaten is also extremely difficult.
"The achievement that Arsenal did was remarkable and outstanding and probably won’t be repeated in the modern game, and it happened in Porto with me.
"There were games where we lived on the limit. Certainly Arsenal did the same. It will be something extremely difficult to go past.
"Which is more difficult? Remaining unbeaten in the league."
The Portuguese manager also feels his side has an advantage going into Saturday’s game as Chelsea will be without captain John Terry as he begins his four-match suspension for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.
He continued: "Obviously you have to be sure to take into account that this is an extremely good player, an experienced player and Chelsea’s captain.
"A player of these dimensions always is surely missed."
Villas-Boas was in charge of Chelsea when the highly controversial match against QPR took place and insists he has no regrets over backing Terry in light of his apology on Thursday.
"I made my stance towards my reading of the situation," he said. "But what I did in the past I continue to support."
