Paolo Di Canio has admitted that he dreams of one day being offered the England job.
Last season, the Swindon Town manager led his side to promotion and they now currently sit fourth in League 1. On the back of this impressive record, Di Canio has been linked with the Bolton Wanderers vacancy.
Speaking to The Mirror, though, Di Canio revealed a much loftier career ambition.
"The dream is, once I am well known here and settled in this environment I love, to be the manager of England," he said.
"I dream to be the foreign hero who leads England to victory after so many decades.”
The Italian, who won nine under-21 caps for the Azzurri between 1988 and 1990, went on to say that, despite his desire to manage the Three Lions, he would not sing the national anthem.
"The anthem is important for the people but I am Italian. Of course I would not sing the anthem, it would be disrespectful."
Di Canio finished by acknowledging that even though he would love to be given the job, his chances of being considered are minimal.
"Maybe it will never happen, because they'll never give it to me."
