thumbnail Hello,

The striker made a cameo appearance for the Hammers in Monday night's win over QPR and completes his comeback from hamstring trouble against the Gunners

Andy Carroll has returned to West Ham's starting XI, for the Hammers' Saturday evening game with Arsenal.

The striker injured his hamstring on his Hammers debut, and made a 20-minute appearance against QPR on Monday night, but will make his second start for Sam Allardyce's side.

Allardyce has made just one other change, George McCartney replacing Joey O'Brien, who was forced out of the game at Loftus Road through injury.

Arsene Wenger has recalled Olivier Giroud to his line-up. The French striker has scored just once, in the League Cup so far this term and is under increasing pressure to open his league account for the Gunners.

Per Mertesacker also returns to Wenger's side after missing the last two ties through illness, and the German's physical presence will be useful to combat Carroll's aerial threat.

Francis Coquelin is the man to drop out of the XI, with Gervinho moving to the wing and Aaron Ramsey dropping into a deeper role.
