Mancini has the same passion as Sir Alex Ferguson, insists Maicon

Manchester City’s summer signing, who knows his new boss from his time at San Siro, says the Italian is just as intimidating as his local rival as they are both "winning managers"
Manchester City new-boy Maicon has insisted that Roberto Mancini is just as fiery and passionate as Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Brazilian knows his new manager well after working under him during Mancini’s stint as Inter boss and, having been reunited following Maicon’s switch to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the summer transfer window, the 31-year-old insists that the Italian is just as imposing as his local rival.

"All winning managers are the same, they show this passion," Maicon said speaking at the launch of City in the Community’s latest Connell Award.
“All winning coaches are the same - if Ferguson has the hairdryer, Roberto has the same passion.
“Roberto is no different. He’s a winning manager like the other ones so he has the same passion.”
“All winning managers are the same and they show this passion to the players because they really want to win."
Mancini has clashed with many Premier League managers during this time in England, but Maicon believes that the players are happy that their manager is fighting their corner on the touchline.
He continued: “Roberto can get passionate but, generally speaking, he likes to keep quiet and keep the atmosphere around the team calm.
“But, of course, the players appreciate it when the manager speaks up for the team - especially because he puts the pressure on him rather than giving it to the players.
“It’s important. That’s the way he should be, to see a passionate coach who demands high standards.
“If he gets angry he reminds everybody of the standards required. There is a minimum requirement that is always there. The players know they have to perform at that level.
“All the teams I played in have won, so all the managers I have worked with have made their contribution.”
